A Brutalist structure, Boston City Hall, is considered the ugliest building in the USA. Despite this dubious honor, I believe Boston City Hall is an incredible location to do a wedding elopement. It has incredible angles, lines and unsuspecting vantage points and light. Under the right eye, there’s a lot of beauty to see.

An Architect elopes at Boston City Hall

The bride, an architect, saw the beauty in what others deemed ugly. They understood the intricate design and unique architecture of Boston City Hall’s Brutalist inspiration; a metaphor for life, what can be perceived as ugly can also have a perspective of beauty. And so, this couple chose to begin their marriage in this unconventional yet meaningful backsplash and they’ll take that as a metaphor for their marriage. What better person then to an architect to have a Boston City Hall elopement.
