The early morning sun casts a warm glow over the Boston Public Garden. It was the perfect time to capture intimate moments of this couple’s engagement session. With the city still quiet and peaceful, we had the entire garden to ourselves.
With a focus on candid moments and elegant simplicity, this engagement session was a perfect reflection of the couple’s special connection. We walked the incredible brown stones of the Commonwealth Ave as the sun peaked over the buildings. Belly laughed as we joked about commandeering the swan boats and danced on the empty Boston Public Garden Bridge.

After we explored the Boston Public Garden, we grabbed some coffee at Tatté Bakery & Cafe Beacon Hill. Having meaningful conversation around some black coffee or a latté was something they did on a weekly basis. So it only made sense to also get photos featuring one of their favourite past times. Once we finished our coffee, we continued our session the charming Beacon Hill neighborhood. The historic streets and beautiful architecture provided a timeless backdrop for their love story. It was still early in the morning, so we could run through the neighbourhood without the hordes of tourists.
The most important thing to me is the couple looking at their photos and they don’t see an awkward, stiff “pose that they’ve never done in their life”. I want them to see candid authenticity, as cliché as that sounds but it’s meaningful for me to create photos that they’ll be proud to show their future grandchildren. I do this by using a documentary style photography paired with organic and natural prompts. Things you do on an everyday, things that make you laugh, stay present and remember why you two love each other.
