A Vintage Willowdale Estate Wedding Captured on Film and Digital

This hybrid digital and film Willowdale Estate Wedding in Autumn was impeccable. It was filled with vintage and custom touches, starting from her thrifted wedding dress, their wedding bands and the little details sprawled over all the venue. I was so overwhelmed (in the greatest way possible) with this one; it reminded me so much of my family. With all the little ones runnings around and big emotions, these two realized what made marriage important. That’s family. They knew that their relationship got to where it is because of the examples and support from their loved ones. As much as this was a celebration of the couple, it was also a celebration of two families becoming one.

A bit about Willowdale Estate

The estate is a melding of timeless charm and old world charm. Built as a summer home for a Boston lawyer in 1902, it has an expansive garden and incredible grounds. There’s so much character, no matter what room you are in, everything will look immaculate. It’s the perfect spot for both a mansion AND tent wedding. With their event coordination services and on-site catering, they make hosting a breeze.

Photographing Film for your Wedding

The finality of film has a special charm to it. Once taken, you can’t take it back and that’s the beauty of it. With film, it simply is, there’s no do overs. Not only does it have that nostalgic forever feel from the film stock, it allows everyone to stay present. Less photos are taken, and so every photo has more significance. The wedding day is already one of the fastest days of your life, a documentary approach with film helps to slow that down. Check out a bit of a highlight reel of the film taken on this day.

A Wedding at Willowdale Estate

Okay, let’s get down to business and give you some details about this wedding. First off, almost everything chosen by the couple had so much character. Her dress and veil was vintage inspired from Tulle Bridal. Their incredible autumn florals done by Poppy Flowers. And lastly, their wedding cake was a cheese wheel! Yes you heard right, an incredibly layered “cake” made from cheese by Wedge RI. The night ended off by the musical stylings of the Sugar Babies Inc and a Candy bar. On top of that, there were 11 little humans part of their wedding party! It was so cute seeing them run around the venue knowing that they were absolutely loved and cherished. Thank you, thank you for all of your hard work! You were a photographer & almost a coordinator all in one the day of making sure everything went so seamlessly. As you know, we’re the nervous type in front of the camera & you made sure to help us feel at ease. Your documentary approach truly showcases the raw emotions & joy we experienced through out the day. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out- all thanks to you!!
