An Elegant Boston Public Library Wedding

This dreamy Boston Public Library Wedding started off in an MIT classroom back in the fall of 2013. Elizabeth still remembers walking in and being immediately intrigued by Cam. The two soon became friends, though their chemistry was obvious to everyone around them. After graduation, life pulled them in different directions, Cam briefly to Wisconsin and Elizabeth to San Francisco, until Elizabeth moved back to Boston in 2019, and their friendship naturally rekindled. By 2021, both single at the same time, they decided to take the leap. Cam’s February 2024 proposal brought everything full circle: what Elizabeth thought was a simple brunch date in Harvard Square turned into a surprise return to MIT’s chapel, where candles and flowers filled the space.

Getting Ready at the Lenox Hotel and Ceremony at St Catherine of Genoa Church

So, as one could expect, this wedding leaned into a lot of what makes Boston timeless and elegance. It begun with Elizabeth getting ready at the Lenox Hotel, right next to the Boston Public Library where she put on her Yumi Katsura Wedding Dress. Cameron got ready in his Best Man’s Seaport apartment where he sported his Tom Ford Tuxedo. Once ready, they opted to do a first look before the ceremony right outside their venue, St Catherine of Genoa Church, to get all the jitters out.

They opted for this church as the backdrop for their wedding vows because it moved them both to tears. Inside, the rich stonework and deep greens, blues, and golds created a breathtaking backdrop, made even more striking by the painted ceiling above the altar. Elizabeth honored her family by incorporating a strip of her mother’s 1980s wedding gown into her bouquet wrap as a subtle but meaningful heirloom. And as a last touch before she walked down the aisle, with the help of her bridesmaids, she put on her Saint Bridal Couture Veil, a little surprise that made the “second look” just as emotional as the first look.

Wedding Celebration at Boston Public Library

The celebration continued at the Boston Public Library. This is where the couple’s thoughtful design truly shined. Guests found their seats via a custom bookcase display filled with meaningful objects, from vintage science books to puzzles. Family-style tables and florals woven with books echoed the venue’s historic charm. During Cocktail Hour in the library’s famous courtyard, Cameron and Elizabeth snuck a peek of their reception set up in Bates Hall before guests entered, soaking in the moment as months of careful choices came together. Their choreographed first dance brought the room to life, and late-night milk and cookie shooters kept guests happily lingering long after the formalities had ended. It was a fitting finish for a day that blended intellect, intention, and unmistakable joy.
