Duxbury Beach + Espresso Martinis

Come join me on this Duxbury Beach Engagement Session. But first, a little about this couple. Going on long walks, exploring new places and espresso martinis are central to this couple’s typical date night. So what better way to capture their love then to explore Duxbury Beach and finish with Espresso Martinis! This 6 mile beach stretches from Marshfield all the way to Plymouth Village. All day it was cloudy and showering but the weather cleared up the second these two hit the beach.

We started the session at Powder Point Bridge where we found tall grass that looked like it was crowned with golden light. We then crossed the historic beach plank sidewalk to explore the beach barefoot. As the sun started to dip lower and lower, the couple pulled out coupe glasses and poured out espresso martinis. What an incredible way to end of the night!

This was such an incredible time to break the ice and get to know this couple before their wedding day! I love to spend this time just getting to know my couples, what makes them laugh, what brings out both their silly side and intimate side and what makes them feel loved and seen. This is so important to me to ensure that the photos I capture are representative and meaningful to the couple.

I always love to say that I don’t want the couple to fit into my mould, because these photos are really not about me. In the same breath, this time helps me hit the ground running on their wedding day. We’ve broken the ice; I’ve learned what makes them feel and look confident. Now the couple doesn’t have to worry about whether or not they’ll receive good photos, they just simply have to be present and enjoy the day that they’ve put effort, blood, sweat and tears into!
